Proposed amendment would stop superintendent move

A proposed Montgomery County Council amendment would freeze the school system's expensive plans to build a new office facility for the superintendent and his staff.

The amendment to the Capital Improvement Projects Budget, now in its early discussion stages, would ban "any expenditure" related to relocating the MCPS superintendent and his staff from its present Carver Center site in Rockville.
